General Audience

The General Audiences presided over by the Holy Father are held every Wednesday at 9am in St Peter’s Square. In the autumn and winter months, the General Audience is held in Paul IV Hall.


Tickets are free and can be requested from the Prefecture of the Papal Household by filling in the form available on their website:

You must indicate the date of the General Audience you have chosen, the number of tickets required, name/group, e-mail, address, telephone number. The form should then be sent by fax to +390669885863 or to the following address:

Tickets must be collected from the office of the Prefecture of the Papal Household, located at the Bronze Gate (St Peter’s Square, on the right-hand side) from the Tuesday before the chosen audience, from 15:00 to 19:00, or on the day of the audience, in the morning, from 07:30. Please note that access to the General Audience must be preceded by a security check, so please arrive in good time.

For special tickets for the bride and groom, please add the following information to the form: (i) Full name of both bride and groom; (ii) Indicate that they are newlyweds; and (iii) Send a copy of their marriage certificate.

The couple should arrive before 08.00 on the day of the hearing and put on their wedding clothes (wedding dress and suit) so that they can be taken to the area for the bride and groom.
